System of preheat of diesel engines

The general information

For the purpose of simplification of cold start diesel engines are equipped by the preheat system which compound components are four candles накаливания, the management block, the control lamp built in in an instrument guard and the complete set of connecting electroconducting.

Candles накаливания represent the tiny heating elements placed in a metal casing.

On one end of a candle накаливания electric contact is located probe a working element, on other. Each of vortical chambers/mouths of the cylinder is equipped by an individual candle накаливания. The working element of a candle is located coaxially струе injected fuel. At food giving on a candle injected fuel heats up, reaching optimum temperature of combustion till the hit moment in the cylinder.

Duration of the period of preheat is defined by the block of management of system which traces engine temperature under indications CTS and corrects time of giving of a food for candles in compliance with concrete conditions.

The control lamp built in in an instrument guard informs the driver on system functioning. When necessary for successful start of the engine the mix temperature will be reached, the lamp is disconnected, however a food continues to move on candles during even some time. If start attempt during the stipulated period does not occur, candles are disconnected in avoidance подсадки the battery and burning out of working heating elements. On some models in case of revealing by the block of management of malfunction of system of preheat the control lamp continues to burn and at the working engine.

Strictly speaking, activation of system of preheat is carried out by ignition key turn ы position II. However, models Felicia are in addition equipped by the preheat system which start is made at opening and the subsequent closing of a driver's door of the car. Naturally, system activation is made unitary for each start of the engine. If during some certain time after opening and closing of a driver's door of attempt of start of the engine it will not be made, repeated activation of system at door opening will not occur.

Candles накаливания continue to function during about 3 minutes after engine start that allows to raise efficiency of ignition of a mix, to lower level of noise, to stabilise turns of idling and to lower toxicity of the fulfilled gases.
