Safety pillow - the general information, safety measures and system deactivation

Driver's and passenger pillows of safety enter into a standard complete set of some models. On other models of a pillow can be established as an additional complete set. The central overlay кулевого wheels equipped with a driver's pillow of safety of models is marked by inscription AIRBAG. On the models equipped with a passenger pillow the similar inscription is put on the right half of panel of devices. On some models of last years of release lateral pillows of safety of forward seats are provided also.

The system of pillows of safety consists of working blocks (actually a pillow with газогенератором), the management block (with the built in gauge of the directed overloads) and the control lamp built in an instrument guard. Operation of forward pillows of safety occurs only at the front blow causing overloads with face-to-face effort not below the block brought in memory of management of value. Filling of pillows of safety is made for thousand fractions of a second that guarantees the maximum degree of protection of the driver and the forward passenger.

On the models equipped with lateral pillows of safety, operation of the last occurs at strong lateral blows. The minimum value of an overload also is brought in memory of the block of management. Presence of lateral pillows raises level of safety of the car even more.

Each time at inclusion of ignition the management block makes short diagnostics of a condition of components of system. Duration of check makes usually about four seconds and during all this time for an instrument guard the corresponding control lamp burns. On termination of a self-diagnostics cycle if any infringements in system it is not revealed, the control lamp should be disconnected. Otherwise (i.e. if the lamp does not join, or does not die away after 4 seconds), and also at inclusion of a lamp during movement, in system malfunction and the car takes place it is necessary to drive away at the first possibility on a car repair shop for carrying out of full diagnostics and debugging (before make sure that the control lamp simply has not fused).

If the control lamp after 4 seconds continues to blink within even 12 seconds, there is a switching-off of a lateral pillow of safety of a passenger seat. For pillow reduction in a working condition the special electronic equipment is required, to find which it is possible only on specialised car repair shops.

On service of components of system of pillows of safety it is possible to start performance of any works only after not less than one minute after a detachment of a negative wire from the battery. On termination of works before battery connection make sure that nobody is in salon, then include ignition through an open driver's door.
Do not suppose heating of pillows of safety from above 100С. The pillows removed from the car should be stored far from heat sources.
Do not suppose hit on components of pillows of safety of any solvents. Cleaning of open surfaces is supposed only with application slightly увлаженной water rags.
Remember that blocks of management of pillows of safety are sensitive to shock loadings. If the block has casually fallen and has hit about a firm surface, it is necessary to replace it.
Before application on the car of electroarc welding without fail disconnect electroconducting from the block of management of system of pillows of safety.
At use of special adaptations for transportation of children of younger age on a forward seat the passenger pillow of safety should be disconnected (address for the help to experts).
