Removal, check of a condition and flywheel installation

The general information

The flywheel is cast from pig-iron and provides uniformity of work of the engine. Besides, the flywheel serves as a coupling support. On perimetre of a forming surface of a flywheel the gear wreath is established, the starter gear wheel is entered into gearing with which приводная at engine start.

The gear wreath is executed from a steel and tempered by a current of high frequency. A wreath напрессовывается on a body of a flywheel after a preliminary warming up to temperature 180 200С.

The frictional surface of a flywheel interfaced to a disk of coupling is subjected very careful machining.

The flywheel fastens to a flange of a cranked shaft by means of four bolts М10х1, which контрятся a special washer, the general for all four bolts.

All flywheels are balanced statically (the admissible disbalance leaves no more than 0.1 Nanometers). After landing to a cranked shaft dynamic balancing of a flywheel in gathering is made.

During operation of the car the back surface of a flywheel co-operating with a disk of coupling, and also its gear wreath is exposed to deterioration. Repair of a back surface of a flywheel consists in its repolishing on the special grinding machine tool with observance of necessary admissions. As to a wreath at revealing of signs of considerable deterioration of teeths or their damage, it is subject to replacement.

The worn out wreath acts in film from a flywheel by means of a press. Alternatively, in the wreath basis it is bored through one or several apertures in diameter 12 13 mm so that the wreath has burst. Try not to damage actually a flywheel.

The new wreath before installation should be warmed up in the electric furnace to temperature 180 200С. The hot wreath keeps within on a flat surface, then it запрессовывается a flywheel which preliminary is better for cooling.

At removal of a flywheel from a cranked shaft it is necessary to remember, it is subjected to dynamic balancing that is why it should be established at assemblage strictly in former position - put landing labels.



1. Remove РКПП (the Transmission see the Head) and coupling assemblage (Coupling see the Head).

2. By means of the clamp made of a thick metal plate jam a gear wreath of a flywheel, having blocked last from проворачивания in process отдавания bolts of its fastening. Alternatively the flywheel can be blocked by means of a metal plate, приболченной between it and the block of cylinders.

3. Turn out bolts of fastening of a flywheel. At assemblage they are subject to replacement without fail.

4. Mark flywheel position in relation to an end face of a pin of a cranked shaft in order to avoid balancing infringement at assemblage.

5. Cautiously remove a heavy flywheel.



1. Check up a condition interfaced to a disk of coupling of a surface of a flywheel. In case of revealing of deep scratches, cracks, задиров and other mechanical damages the flywheel is subject to replacement, or should be given in проточку (consult at experts of car-care centre).
2. Attentively examine a gear wreath of a flywheel. In case of deterioration or loss of teeths it is necessary to replace a wreath in the conditions of a car-care centre workshop.
3. Having banished a tap carving apertures in an end face of a pin of a cranked shaft, remove from them the rests of fixing hermetic and corrosion products.



1. Carefully having smoothed out interfaced surfaces, establish a flywheel on a pin of a cranked shaft according to the landing labels put in the course of dismantle.

The new flywheel can be established in any position.

2. If new fixing bolts are not missed the mark by fixing structure on manufacturer, slightly grease their carving part with suitable hermetic. Screw bolts and tighten them, while only by hand.
3. One of offered above ways block a flywheel from проворачивания, then tighten fixing bolts with demanded effort.
4. Establish to the place of assemblage of coupling and РКПП (Heads Coupling and the Transmission see).
