Removal, major repairs and installation of the main brake cylinder (ГТЦ)

Before to start performance of procedures attentively familiarise with the prevention text in the beginning the system Design, the description of separate knots and mechanisms Has undressed.

At assemblage new fixing nuts and a sealing ring will be necessary.

REMOVAL

Models without ABS

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully wipe a surface of tank GTTS and remove from it a cover. Take the filter and pump out from the tank a hydraulic liquid.

At all do not suck away a brake liquid a mouth - take advantage of a syringe or a rubber pear! Alternatively, open the gate of prorolling of any of brake mechanisms, connect to it a drain hose and empty the tank, extorting a liquid in drain capacity by squeezing of a pedal of a foot brake.

2. Release a lock uvula of fastening of the tank and remove last from the basic plugs on ГТЦ.
3. Wipe surfaces of walls of the cylinder around штуцерных connections of brake lines. Under unions for gathering of a spilt liquid enclose rags. Remembering an order of connection of tubes, release штуцерные nuts and disconnect lines. At once закупорьте the open ends of tubes and unions for the purpose of minimisation of losses of a brake liquid and in order to avoid hit in dirt system. Collect traces of the spilt liquid rags.
4. Give nuts of fastening ГТЦ on the block of the servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier of brakes, remove washers.

At nut assemblage are subject to replacement without fail.

5. Remove ГТЦ from the block of the servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier together with a sealing ring.

The sealing ring at assemblage is subject to replacement without fail.

6. In view of absence on sale of replaceable internal components, major repairs failed ГТЦ are not obviously possible. It is necessary to replace defective assemblage new. Unique components subject to replacement are rubber plugs of support of fastening on ГТЦ the tank. Both plugs are simply densely planted in the nests.


Equipped ABS models

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

On the models equipped ABS, before рассоединением hydraulic brake lines without fail disconnect the storage battery. To connect the battery follows only after connection of all hydraulic lines of a brake path. Infringement of the given requirement is fraught with hit in the hydraulic modulator of air, which removal in the course of usual prorolling of system (the Section text see) it is not obviously possible and demands use of a special electronic tester (VAG 1552).

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery, then uncover tank GTTS. Pump out from the tank a hydraulic liquid.

2. Remove a finger of fastening of a lock uvula of a clamp and accurately remove the tank from case GTTS, having liberated it from rubber sealing plugs.
3. Wipe surfaces of walls of the cylinder around штуцерных connections of brake lines. Under unions for gathering of a spilt liquid enclose rags. Remembering an order of connection of tubes, release штуцерные nuts and disconnect lines. 5. Liberate a basic arm of the hydraulic modulator from the servo-driver block, then remove ГТЦ with a sealing ring.

The sealing ring at assemblage is subject to replacement without fail.

6. In view of absence on sale of replaceable internal components, major repairs failed ГТЦ are not obviously possible. It is necessary to replace defective assemblage new. Unique components subject to replacement are rubber plugs of support of fastening on ГТЦ the tank. Both plugs are simply densely planted in the nests.


Major repairs

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The leaks of a brake liquid developing between flange ГТЦ and the case of the servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier of brakes, or increase in a course of a pedal of a foot brake testify to necessity of performance of major repairs of assemblage of the cylinder. Repair is recommended to be spent in the conditions of a masterful car repair shop.
2. Remove ГТЦ.
3. Liberate the tank of a brake liquid from plugs of reception nests ГТЦ through passage.
4. Take from nests rubber plugs through passage.
5. Take from inlet apertures of the cylinder pins of restriction of a course of pistons - assemblage to turn upside down enough and to shake.
6. Develop the cylinder vertically and, striking a landing flange about wooden брусок, serially beat out from it at first one piston, then the second.
7. Attentively examine an interfaced surface of the case of the cylinder on presence of cavities and mechanical damages. Minor defects can be removed by polishing with application of fine-grained polishing paste. On termination of polishing wipe the processed surface methyl spirit. In case of more serious damages it is necessary to replace the cylinder.
8. All removed components wash out in a pure brake liquid, or methyl spirit.

At all do not apply to washing of components ГТЦ gasoline or other solvents on an oil basis as contact remove will lead to destruction of rubber elements. Having finished washing, attentively study a condition of details, special attention giving to elasticity of cuffs of pistons (for removal from pistons of old cuffs it is possible to take advantage of a screw-driver; application of a screw-driver for installation of new cuffs to lead to irreversible failure).

9. Check up also a condition of the rubber plugs through passage taken from nests under landing of connecting branch pipes of the tank of a brake liquid.
10. Having replaced the worn out or failed components, can start device assemblage (see further).
11. Moisten a mirror of the cylinder with a pure brake liquid.
12. Establish on pistons sealing cuffs, and on their cores of a washer under installation of springs.
13. Put on a returnable spring a core of shorter piston (an end face of smaller diameter [coils with the truncated step?] forward). Fill assemblage of the piston with a spring in the cylinder (a spring forward). Having rested выколоткой against a piston bottom, compress its spring approximately on 0.5 sm and, keeping assemblage in this position, fill in an inlet aperture a corresponding pin of restriction of a piston stroke.
14. Operating in the manner similar described in previous paragraph, put on a returnable spring a core of the second piston. Fill assemblage of the piston with a spring in the cylinder (a spring forward). Enter выколотку into deepening in an end face of the piston and, overcoming resistance of a spring, заглубите the piston approximately on 2 sm more low interfaced surfaces of a landing flange. Keeping the piston in this position, fill in the second inlet aperture of the cylinder a persistent pin.
15. How much time having pressed on выколотку, check up freedom of moving of pistons in the cylinder.
16. Clean выколотку and with effort plant in apertures under landing of a persistent pin rubber plugs through passage.
17. Before installation of assemblage ГТЦ check up size выступания an adjusting tip of a rod of a pusher of the servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier and depth of landing of the piston in the cylinder (distance from interfaced surfaces of a flange to the bottom deepenings in the piston). The difference between results of the first and second measurements should make 0.3 0.6 mm. Presence of such backlash is an indispensable condition of serviceable functioning ГТЦ and the vacuum amplifier. Backlash updating is reached by tip rotation on the end of a bar of a pusher. The remark: In the conditions of masterful station servicing definition of an adjusting backlash of a pusher is made by means of the special adaptation.
18. Now can start assemblage installation.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces ГТЦ and the block of the vacuum amplifier. Establish in a flute from the back party of the case of the cylinder a new sealing ring.
2. Place ГТЦ on the block of the vacuum amplifier. Make sure that the rod of a pusher of the servo-driver enters into the central part of the piston of the cylinder. Establish washers, screw new fixing nuts and tighten them with demanded effort.
3. Wipe штуцерные knots of brake tubes and connect the last on the former places to ГТЦ. Strongly tighten накидные штуцерные nuts.
4. Slightly grease with a fresh brake liquid rubber sealing plugs in the top part ГТЦ and densely plant in them the tank of a hydraulic liquid. Fix the tank on the cylinder, having latched a lock uvula of a clamp.
5. Fill in in tank GTTS a fresh hydraulic liquid (to a mark the MOVE) and execute full prorolling of hydraulic system (the Section Prorolling of hydraulic system see). Establish into place a tank cover. Before to start car operation check up serviceability of functioning of brake system.


Equipped ABS models

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces ГТЦ and the block of the vacuum amplifier. Establish in a flute from the back party of the case of the cylinder a new sealing ring.
2. Having taken aside from the block of the servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier the hydraulic modulator, establish on the regular place place ГТЦ. Track, that the rod of a pusher of the servo-driver entered into the central part of the piston of the cylinder. Return into place the modulator, having planted its arm on hairpins of the block of the vacuum amplifier, then establish washers, screw new fixing nuts and tighten them with demanded effort.
3. Slightly grease with a fresh brake liquid rubber sealing plugs in the top part ГТЦ and densely plant in them the tank. Fix the tank on the cylinder, having established a lock finger.
4. Before connection of brake lines it is necessary to remove air from the main cylinder. For this purpose fill in in ГТЦ a fresh hydraulic liquid and establish under unions drain capacity. Ask the assistant some times with an interval in 5 seconds to squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake. When from the cylinder the free liquid from air bubbles will start to be pushed out, prorolling can be stopped. Fill in a liquid also in brake tubes. Ask the assistant to squeeze out a pedal and to fix it in the bottom position and connect to the cylinder brake tubes. Strongly tighten накидные штуцерные nuts. After connection of both tubes the pedal can be released. Clean drain capacity and смойте splashes pure cold water.
5. Fill in in tank GTTS a fresh hydraulic liquid (to a mark the MOVE) and execute full prorolling of hydraulic system (the Section Prorolling of hydraulic system see). Establish into place a tank cover. Before to start car operation check up serviceability of functioning of brake system.
