Replacement колодок disk brake mechanisms of forward wheels

Remember that brake Pads are subject to replacement only in the complete set and simultaneously on both wheels of one bridge - replacement carrying out only on one of brake mechanisms is fraught with infringement of uniformity of seizing effort and loss of course stability of the car during braking.

Do not forget that the dust developed in the course of deterioration of a frictional material колодок, can contain unhealthy asbestos - at all do not blow off its compressed air and do not inhale. At service of brake mechanisms it is necessary to put on a protective mask or a respirator. Do not use for washing off of a brake dust solvents on an oil basis - wipe components of brake mechanisms only methyl spirit or a special cleaner.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Prop up wedges back wheels of the car, cock a lay brake, then поддомкратьте redock of the car and establish it on props. Remove forward wheels.
2. Having pulled a support outside, drown in the piston in the cylinder.

3. Turn out a bolt of the bottom directing finger of a support. In the course of bolt easing keep a finger from проворачивания рожковым a key.

4. Having turned a support upwards, remove it with колодок and анкерной скобы the brake mechanism and tie up a wire to suspension bracket elements.

At all do not suppose an excessive tension of a flexible brake hose.

5. Take two Pads from анкерной скобы the brake mechanism.

6. Measure a residual thickness of a frictional overlay of each of колодок. If any from колодок in any point it is worn out more strongly the admissible limit, all four Pads (from both brake mechanisms of the given axis of the car) are subject to replacement. Replacement колодок should be made also in case of them замасливания or засаливания. Preliminary it is necessary to reveal and eliminate the reason of hit of oil in the brake mechanism. In case of revealing of signs of non-uniform deterioration колодок it is necessary also to try to define and eliminate the reason of occurrence of defect.

7. If the condition колодок is recognised by satisfactory, they should be cleaned carefully by means of a metal brush, special attention giving to quality зачистки back walls of metal substrates. Do not forget to clean the flutes done in a body of frictional overlays, completely having removed from them dust and got stuck small extraneous subjects. Having finished with колодками, smooth out contact surfaces of their landing in a support and анкерной скобе.

8. Before installation колодок check up density of landing of directing fingers of a support, then estimate a condition of protective covers of fingers. Remove a dust and a dirt from support and piston surfaces. Estimate a condition dusterа the piston. The piston check up on presence of traces of leaks, corrosion and mechanical damages. In case of revealing of defects components are subject to replacement (see Has undressed Removal, major repairs and installation of supports of brake mechanisms of forward wheels).

9. At installation new (and consequently, and thicker) колодок the support piston should is drowned in the cylinder for the purpose of maintenance of sufficient free space. Take advantage of a clamp, or suitable wooden бруском (as the lever). If ГТЦ has not been overflowed, отжимание the piston should not lead to an overflowing of a brake liquid too much the tank, however the given moment should be checked. On reaching level of a liquid of a mark the MOVE its surplus should be pumped out from tank GTTS, or is let out on a hose through the prorolling gate.

In order to avoid a poisoning at all do not suck away a brake liquid from the cylinder a mouth - take advantage of a syringe or a rubber pear!

10. Remove all traces of old hermetic from coils of a carving of a bolt and a directing finger. In case of revealing of defects of a carving the bolt is subject to replacement.
11. Establish Pads in анкерную скобу the brake mechanism (frictional overlays to a disk).
12. Lower a support, having tracked correctness of placing in it антивизговых springs.

13. Slightly grease a carving of a bolt of a directing finger with hermetic of type Loctite 243.

14. Having pressed a support downwards, screw a bolt and tighten it with demanded effort (a finger keep from проворачивания рожковым a key).

15. Some times squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake for the purpose of pressure restoration in hydraulic system.
16. Repeat the described procedure for a support of the brake mechanism of an opposite wheel.
17. Establish to the place of a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten bolts of fastening of wheels with demanded effort.
18. Check up level of a hydraulic liquid.

Full efficiency of braking is reached only after definitive extra earnings new brake колодок. Avoid sharp braking on first hundreds kilometres of run after replacement of components of brake mechanisms.
