On models with the steering wheel equipped with a ring nozzle for its removal from a column the stripper is required.

Steering column - the general information

The shaft of a steering column is made of a steel. For the purpose of maintenance of safety requirements the column shaft is divided on two sections: top (actually a shaft of a steering column) and bottom (карданный an intermediate shaft).

Plugs are attached to both ends of an intermediate shaft with established in them карданными hinges. Holders of hinges are executed cutting and inside supplied шлицевым by connection.

The holder top карданного the hinge is fixed on bottom шлицевом connection of a shaft of a steering column. The holder of an intermediate shaft is fixed on шлицевом connection of a shaft of a drive of the steering mechanism. Each of holders is pulled together by bolt М8х30.

The shaft of a steering column passes through an aperture in a partition. Hermetic sealing is carried out by means of the rubber plug through passage.

The top shaft of a column in the bottom part comes to an end карданным with the hinge, and top - шлицами and carving М14х1.5. On the top pin of a shaft the steering wheel which then fastens a nut is put. Besides a wheel in the top part of a shaft assemblage подрулевых switches is established also.

The arm is welded on the bottom part of a tubular casing with longitudinal cuts through which take place two bolts М8х22 with which help the pipe fastens to a board in a forward part of a body. Approximately in the middle the pipe is clamped by a collar which fastens to a partition of an impellent compartment by means of two bolts М8х35.

In a tubular casing of a shaft of a steering column two bearings of type PLC 03-33 in which the shaft of a steering column rotates are established. Bearings are filled by greasing industrially and загерметизированы that is why, additional service do not require.

On a tubular casing the arm in which the lock of ignition/blocking of a wheel is planted is established. The lock crossbar enters into the groove which has been cut in a pipe of a casing. The arm holder is clamped on a pipe by means of special bolts with срезными heads (for the purpose of prevention of unapproved switching-off of blocking).

The steering wheel fastens on a shaft by means of nut М14х1.5.

Major repairs

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a steering column (see Has undressed Removal and installation of a steering column). Insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in position 0.
2. With a paint or a marker mark position of a shaft of a column concerning top карданного the hinge of an intermediate shaft.

3. Turn out a coupling bolt and separate an intermediate shaft from a column.

4. Remembering adjusting position of components, remove from the basis of a column a spring, then remote and ring plugs. Take a column shaft upwards from a directing pipe. Remove the bottom basic plug.
5. At a corresponding complete set for removal from the top end of a shaft of a column of a transitive nozzle of a steering wheel the stripper is required.
6. Remove a lock ring from the top end of a shaft of a column, then remove the ring prorate and the top basic plug.
7. Check up a condition of components, defective replace.
8. At assemblage, having established on the top end of a shaft ring and basic plugs, at once fix their lock ring. Track correctness of landing of a ring in the flute. At a corresponding complete set plant on a shaft a transitive nozzle of a steering wheel.
9. Establish in directing pipe the top basic plug, then accurately fill in it shaft assemblage. Put on the bottom end of a shaft ring both remote plugs and a spring.
10. Achieve combination of the labels put in the course of dismantle, then connect to assemblage an intermediate shaft. Track correctness of landing of a shaft in шлицах columns, then tighten a coupling bolt with demanded effort.
11. Check up serviceability of functioning of a column, then establish it on the car (see Has undressed Removal and installation of a steering column).
